Every other Saturday, I get the privilege of working an eight hour desk shift! Every time I've had this shift I keep telling myself I'll get work done...but somehow I get distracted or I'm completely not motivated. Which has become very difficult. So I decided might as well update my blog!
This week has been one crazy week in weather...let's see was in the high 50s on Monday and then Wednesday it snows...and has been cold for the past few days. But here's the kicker, we're back in the high 50s again. Oh Colorado and your fickle weather.
I've been really enjoying this final semester of college, but still freaking out about the future. I'll eventually have everything will fall in place. Did my free grad photo yesterday...so surreal. But it was a lot of fun. I still need to order my cap & gown as well as announcements. I also need to do some Senior Pictures...thankfully I could do my own, but I really wish Chris Dzombak lived closer or at least decided to take a trip to Colorado...lol blah! Oh well...I'll figure it out.
I think I've distracted myself long enough...back to doing my assignments on my to do list for the desk....I can do this!

I am Mark Drum! I want to thank you so much for visiting my page! This is my blog about daily life, random thoughts, ranting about reality tv and posting photos I take. Please feel free to comment. I'll hopefully respond back in a timely fashion.

Class Cancelled
So I wake up like a minute before my class to rush off to the building, which thankfully is only 300 feet away from my building to come to find four other of my classmates waiting for us to begin. So after a good 10 min another one of our classmates arrives and then a few minutes later our professor comes in to start the class.
Oh, I forgot to mention, this is my modern dance two class. So as our professor shows up to start to take attendance, they just ask if we want to take a personal day...we all said yes!
Moral of this story...Musical Theatre Majors, thanks for not coming to class to go and watch a scene study....lol! I'm enjoying this extra hour and 45 min off before I usually go to lunch and then go to my last class of the day.

Sick
I really hate being sick! I can't remember the last time when I was sick. I've gotten headaches and some stuffy noses, where all I would have to do is just take a nap and I'd feel better. Nope not this time, it's a full fledged sickness. I can't smell anything, sneezing crazy and been running temperatures on and off. But you know what I keep going.
I'm going to fight this! As much as I enjoy just being in bed, I'd rather be healthy and active. This whole congestion thing is really lame.
But to spin this in a somewhat positive light...yeah can't really see any right now...
BLAH!
Boo sickness!

Whoa time has flown
Literally....
I had a post ready to be put up, but then I delayed it. So I'll post it sometime later.
So I'm pretty sure I'm sick, but not to the point where I can't function. I've been able to do stuff but I just have stuffy nose and mild sore throat. I think I just needs to sleep and lots of liquids and I'll be good.
This is going to be short, because I don't know what else to write, but more to come!

Sore
For some odd reason by throat feels sore, my lower back and thighs are sore too. It's kinda ridiculous. I'm not try to complain but literally all day I've been sore and have had the most unpleasant face. Granted I also didn't get much sleep either and I just decided to sleep in Wilson as oppose to walking an additional block to my room so slept in the lounge before my desk shift, but I still tried to stay positive.
This day has felt really, really, REALLY LONG! Started at 6am working the desk, then went to do some RA interviews and after that had a couple of meetings. Then lunch break which then continued with one final RA interview for the day. Then I psuedo had some time off, however I realized I still needed to purchase a lift ticket and check out snowboarding equipment. I got to see a friend I haven't seen in a few weeks and chatted while I purchased my lift ticket at the store. Then went to the rec center to pick up the snowboarding equipment. Apparently the rec center was having a snowboarding event this weekend and the choices were slim and I got the short end of the selections. But again staying positive..
Walked all of my equipment I checked out back to my room, which was on Central campus, when I was in West. I know I'm complaining about being sore, but seriously....I feel out of shape. Doing swing movements in Modern II was strenuous I guess because I'm sore from that.
Anyways I'm really looking forward to tomorrow. Will be going to Copper Mountain with some of my Fraternity brothers. hopefully I'll have the patience and determination to get snowboarding down. Plus it'll be fun either way! First time snowboarding in the Rocky Mountains, hopefully it won't be my last!

TGIF
It's finally FRIDAY! Plus I don't have any classes tomorrow, due to the Gala (performance/art show) is on Saturday and my professor cancelled my one and only class! SUCCESS!
I don't know why, but this week has been lack of sleep! Which isn't a good thing because I really do enjoy my sleep! I should work on that. But I think it's the fact that the reality of graduating is hitting that's driving my to be anxious and excited and stress all at the same time.
Anyways, I feel like my schedule today is going to be in threes. I've got three desk shifts (six hours at the desk), I've got three RA interviews, three meetings with people, but only ONE IP for my fraternity. But it's going to be worth it in the end of today because Saturday, I'll be snowboarding for the first time! Which I'm really excited for! Going with some of my fraternity bros up to (I think) Cooper Mountain for the day to snowboard.
Can I tell you, not actually gone ever really made me feel lame. I've been in Colorado for three years now and I'm finally going as I graduate. Better late then never right? Looking forward to that.
Well, I'll eventually get some sleep tonight...get to wake up at 5am for a 6am desk shift!
I'll probably blog then or I'll just zone out and listen to the radio...hmmmm we'll see!

Sleep
Haven't been sleeping well...don't know why....though I do take a nap during the afternoon, which probably doesn't help the cause. But today, I would say that I won't take a nap today, but realistically, when I'm tired I'm going to sleep.
Today started sort of on a bad note, but it's turning to be a good day. I got woken up at 7am, when my first class wasn't until 9:05....so I had a good two hours still of sleep. Granted I was on duty last night and my duty ends at 8am today, but still...7am....after being up until 3....yeah...working on 4 hours of sleep...no bueno. But hey going to keep positive. Plus the situation that I dealt with was called for...sort of...but it's in the past now and I'm not going to rant about the ridiculous of it.
My day is pretty much easy now...I'm currently working the front desk, then lunch then some a RA Interview, nap time, visiting the A/PASS & NASS House for Party with a Plan, then Student Senate and after that celebrating a friend's birthday! It would seem like my day is pretty packed but for me it really isn't.
So I'm looking forward to next week because SPRING AWAKENING is coming to Colorado and I'll be seeing it. Best part, I was able to make it an event for the residence halls that I'm in. With two faculty in residence sponsoring this event, we'll be taking 12 residents to experience this show! Plus I get to see my friend, Christopher Wood, who is playing Melchior in the show! This will be my third time seeing the show and my second friend in the show! I just really like the music and the message of the play. My middle school theatre teacher also knows someone in the show, Travis Stroessenreuther, and was ever so kind to let him know I was coming to see the show! Thanks Mrs. C! =]
Again, even though I'm working on very little sleep, I'm keeping a positive attitude and living life!

Colorado Weather
It's like you get all four seasons in one week. Or at least three.
So right now it's starting to snow and let me tell you I'm not a fan!
Ok so I've lived in the midwest for most of my life so I should be use to this right? Right, however do I enjoy living in cold weather conditions, of course not! Especially since it's dry air here in Colorado while I had humidity back home. Either way I'm just ranting the fact that it's cold!
Weird little fact, I like a cold room, but I hate cold weather.
-----
All in all this weather makes me sad. So I took this photo last year, but it's pretty much what's happening right now! BLAH!
Is it summer yet? You know, Groundhogs Day was last week and they definitely said Spring would be coming early....when!?!?!? WHEN!?!?!?
Plus we're suppose to be going back into sub zero weather! BOO!...kicker...by Saturday we're back in the 50s....WHAT IS GOING ON!?!?!?
Thinking warm thoughts!

Mondays
I enjoy my Monday, Wednesday and Friday schedule this last semester! Only one class and it's over by 10am. It's pretty awesome! So I have a lot of free time during the day.
Honestly, this semester is really easy. Here is my schedule:
-------
Let's see, I've got a meeting in an hour and then absolutely nothing until 7pm. I'll probably take a nap or will be working on my program that I'm putting on this week for my residents. Which should be exciting or at least will amuse me. My residents are great! I've written 5 OTMs (of the months, which is a recognition thing for the National Residence Hall Honorary & Residence Hall Association).
That's pretty much it, for now... until tomorrow!

Honestly, this semester is really easy. Here is my schedule:
MWF - Playwriting
TR - Modern Dance II & Theatre in Filmso really I'm pretty much enjoying my last semester to the fullest. My homework consists of writing my one act play for Playwriting, which is slowing coming together. We were reading through them in class today and unfortunately didn't get time. Due to the fact I didn't want to go first and didn't want to go after someone's play that sounded really good. I know I'm not the only one thinking or have done that. But we'll be going through the rest of the plays on Wednesday, so then we'll hear mine aloud.

Brand New Start
I honestly haven't blogged in FOREVER! It's kind of sad to think about because I loved expressing every single little facet that my day had brought. Whether it be for better or for worse.
So why start now? Why not! Granted, being a 5th year College Student, who'll be finally finishing this May, I might as well start writing every most of what is going on with my life.
I think I'll add an about me on the side of the page to get the formal stuff out of the way.
But it's a brand new start! =]
