Day 338

Well I'm 10,000 feet above the ground and I'm on my laptop flying from the east coast to the rocky mountains.

This was my first trek back to LGA since 2008, which seems like forever ago.

Time to catch up on some blogging since I'm on a flight with literally nothing to do. Actually there are plenty of things for me to do, but I really wanted to blog!

My new place I moved into in Astoria has been great! My roommates are great and I'm away from the city to enjoy it without going too crazy. I love NYC but it's nice to have a little piece of suburbia (i.e. Trees and not just buildings). My friend whom was one of the reasons I moved to Astoria (but also I liked the neighborhood) has decided to move back home and start another chapter of their life. They want to pursue graduate school and found it best to go home. I commend them for realizing it but selfishly wish they were still here. But I know they'll do some great things!

I've had the great opportunity of auditioning for a theatre company and I'm still awaiting to hear back. I was fortunate to make it through two different callbacks and the experience has been the most rewarding. On top of the audition, I had the opportunity to apply for a position at my job as well.

Like anyone else trying to multitask things as well as pursue multiple things at once, knows how stressful and tiring it can be, but the rewards are worth it. However the position at my job, I wasn't selected to move on but I did get something out of it, so it was a win-win.

---------------

Never really mentioned why I'm on a plane. I'm actually going to a theatre conference in Colorado which I've been a part of for six years now helping out. I'm excited to see familiar faces and see the talent from the high school and middle school kids. I also decided to come a day early and visit my alma mater. Looking forward to seeing my college friends and fraternity brothers both old and new.

However I'm not looking forward to this sub zero temperatures. I'm thankful most of my time will be done inside.

------------------

I'll add some photos from the past month up as well. But the wifi on the plane isn't permitting me to do so.

Until next time!

Day 309

I've been off on my days this year by 10....whoops! At least I was consistent. Anyways it's November already and the year is almost over!

Last week I moved into my new apartment with new roommates. Now living in NYC has been a little difficult for me because I had been missing friends back home. The first place I was living just wasn't the place I wanted to live and so I made the decision to start looking for a new place. Now I am a person who hates to say goodbye or leave, but luckily my landlady understood. However there was of course it's roller coasters. With the roller coasters I took it with stride and in the end come out of it learning more about myself.

Trying to balance work and pursuing a dream is never an easy task. I'm definitely still trying to figure it out, but right now I'm trying to really get my feet on the ground as well as get them wet too. I had an unexpected opportunity last month and I did my best. Even though it didn't turn out in my favor I learned from it and I'm moving forward. I am thankful for having a full time job and it's been work trying to adjust to the time difference. I remember in college (which is only two years ago) that I was pulling some late night shifts, going to class, going to rehearsals and being a leader on campus. Now it's just working late shifts, trying to pursue my dream for acting and trying to sleep.

Funny thing about moving to my new place is that I wanted to live closer to a friend. Now ironically that friend is leaving the city. Which I'm sad to see them go but happy that they're doing what makes them happy. I can't be selfish about that and besides my new roommates are great. Also since my family visit, I've been in touch with my "uncle" or my mom's cousin and will hopefully soon be meeting more family members. Glad to know I have family around the city and am slowly making new friends in the city.

Anyways today should be a good day. I'm off from work, going to the bookstore to do some research on some plays to look for monologues for auditions and going to meet some cool people tonight. Then tomorrow a friend from out of town is coming in for the weekend and I'm going to an alumni event for my fraternity.

Things are looking good!

Day 299

It's been a few weeks and I can't believe that I've already been in living in New York for a little over two months!

Learning a lot about myself and trying to live the dream.

Adrian Wilson (look him up on Google+) did an awesome event at the Apple Store in SoHo last week and from it just reignited my fuel to continue to do what I love. But it also got me to thinking that I should blog more. Since I call myself a blogger, I should be doing more of that! Also I love to take pictures and I'll start posting more photos here as well!

My family came to visit to see how I was doing in the city and while visiting we took a trip to see the Statue of Liberty. While on the ferry, I took this show of NYC!

I've been trying to find some Filipino food in the city and luckily I have found three places! With the help of my co-worker back home and my own search, I was able to find them.

Maharlika & Jeepney are sister restaurants and on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The selections are great and their menus vary from lunch and dinner.

My lunch when my family came into town!
If there was a fast food restaurant that I would go daily and feel no regret it would be Jollibee! It's a Filipino company! It's the Philippine's version of McDonald's but even better! They have a burger, chicken and pasta menu. Plus something new that I discovered they serve SPAM sliders!

Located in Queens, NY - worth the trip!

So the new Pokemon X & Y games came out and I'm a fan of the series since it's introduction back in 1998! The game is really fun and it continues to challenge me. However just like every time I play the series, I get bored after beating the Elite Four. Even though there are more fun things to do after, I just get bored and move on. We'll see how long it takes for me to get bored with this series. After four days I've complete all the gym leaders and am training to defeat the Elite Four. I'll be honest, I totally use the strategy books before hand instead of going blind. I want to make sure my Pokemon are leveled up higher than the Elite Four or at least enough for me to win as well as the Champion.

Day 280

I've fallen off the personal blog wagon. But I definitely kept up with my Big Brother blog for CBS Detroit. I will admit however that I didn't blog about the "recap" episode because it was just a filler and nothing really needed to be said about it.

Anyways 70  80 (UPDATE: I can't count...lol) days have gone by and there have been a lot of things that have happened!

Biggest thing...

I've moved to NYC!

Thankfully with my job I was able to transfer and get full time! Which has been a blessing and I've even found my apartment right before going into my first day of work!

This is the first time I've moved to a big city, lived with roommates and used public transportation to get to work.

I love it! I'm a city type of person and as much as I loved suburbia I love the city life! I've been here for almost a month and during August I had an interview for the position then finally accepting the job!

Sad to leave the friends and family but this was a much needed change!

I could even check this off my goals list! Moving to NYC was one of them! The other thing I was able to accomplish this summer was skydiving!

I can't wait to see what the future holds for me out in NYC!

Big City, Big Dreams!

Day 210

200  210 (UPDATE: I can't count...lol) days already this year! How crazy is that!?!?

As always, I've neglected to blog on here, but I had thought about posting within 30 days of the last one but that didn't turn out.

------------

Summer has been literally a roller coaster of emotions. I even went to ride roller coasters this past week. After going with some friends from work and going on the rides, it hit me that, it's ok to go through all the emotions, just as long as I enjoy the ride. I can't keep living in fear and I just need to take things in stride.

I have had some not so great things happen recently some of it is my own doing and some just wasn't meant to be, but I'm learning. I'm a young adult and living my life. It may not have been the life I dreamed of when growing up but it's still my life!

I think the one constant this summer has been my blogging about Big Brother! I'm literally a die-hard fan, without being too crazy, if that even makes sense. I don't subscribe to the live feeds, but I support the fan pages. Granted I should really purchase the live feeds, but that's one expense that's not worth just for three months when I've got student debt and living my life to worry about. Big Brother is that nice escape and really shows that I am a good person, even though I have a very strange fascination with being on a TV show that documents everyone's life for 24/7 for three months and trying to win $500,000. I guess you can say that's the competitor in me. I'll be really sad if the show gets cancelled, but I'll be honest, there are other reality tv shows out there, yet Big Brother has a place in my heart!

--------------

I've been on and off the getting fit wagon. I keep seeing my friends heading to the gym and I'm here just lounging around. When I see their progress it makes me jealous and makes me get my butt into the gym. Then I remember I'm not trying to be a gym rat or a meat head. I'm just trying to feel physically fit and have a body I'm happy with. I'm slowly seeing changes and I can only hope that when I continue to keep going that I will see the results I want. My weakness at the moment is my diet and motivation. Right now my eating habits could be improved but I'm doing fine with where I am, however if I want to pack on the muscle weight, I need to change my diet and continually exercise to burn the fat and build the muscle. Let's be honest to change my diet that means I need to honestly eat more which costs money and with my current financial situation that doesn't seem like it will change anytime soon. So I'm making due with what I go. On the plus side, I'm seeing abs, people have noticed that I've been working and I'm feeling good about myself. So it's a win-win.

Until next time

Day 177

Wow, just got done watching So You Think You Can Dance and just WOW!

This season they've set the bar high! These contestants mean business. I'm glad that the producers of this show are working their butts off to make sure the "big wigs" (aka FOX) sees how much dance is an amazing form of entertainment and this show needs to get back to two shows a week.

::stepping down from my soap box::

Now for the actual show...here's where I'm ranking the guys and girls.

Girls:
1. Amy Yakima - She had the dance of the night with her partner. It was great and she has a great personality to match her awesome dancing.
2. Jasmine Mason - Doing a dance blindfolded is skill and then having complete trust in your partner while blindfolded. Jasmine M, did great this week.
3. Jasmine Harper - Jasmin H is definitely in a power couple and both are "giants."
4. Brittany Cherry - Afro-jazz is hard but Brittany made it look easy.
5. Hayley Erbert - She may be in the middle of the pack on my list but she definitely caught my eye during this weeks piece! Hayley has swag!
6. Jenna Johnson - Safe, honestly couldn't really say it was the strongest but definitely not the weakest.
7. Makenzie Dustman - I literally was like, "Who is this girl," when she was all dolled up. But then remember she's a great dancer! However their are plenty of strong girls and she's fallen short on my list.
8. Malice Miller - I like Malice, but I fear she'll be dancing for her life. Her piece was great, she definitely matured but will it be enough to keep her in the competition. I'm predicting yes, but we'll see.
9. Mariah Spears - I want this girl Krumper to be safe but I fear she too will be in danger.
10. Alexis Juliano - She can tap but she's gotta work on her swag. I like Alexis but that piece was not up to par.

Guys
1. Fik-Shun - This guys got personality and the talent to back it up. He'll be safe but I would definitely like to see some struggle from him. Nobody can be great all the time.
2. Curtis Holland - Curtis did a great job with the hip hop piece, I was a little nervous since he was always a happy guy could he get down and dirty. He delivered.
3. Aaron Turner - If this dude is not safe, America I will flip a table and yell at everyone who voted for the other guys. He was 11 on the judges short list this season and with a twist of fate was given an opportunity to prove those judges wrong. Let's keep him in the competition to prove the judges wrong. He may not be the top person on my list but he's my FAVORITE DANCER so far! I like an underdog and his talent is endless! #TeamAaronTurner
4. Alan Bersten - Alan would be higher on my list but sadly I had to agree with the judges, I needed more emotion. He was a great partner, but I needed more. He'll definitely be safe.
5. Tucker Knox - Middle of the road performance but I know Tucker can do better. His personality shines through but I wasn't jumping up for him.
6. Paul Karmiryan - Even though Paul may have won the Armenian SYTYCD he's definitely trying to prove America he can dance. Give this guy a chance, but I know the fact he "won" another countries dance version is hindering him from advancing with some votes.
7. Jade Zuberi - I want Jade to stay in this competition but I fear there are way too many good guys (like the girls) where he's getting lost in the light. He did have a great piece this weak and he's from Michigan, I've got to support a local!
8.  Blueprint - It was good, but was it great for me, no. He'll be safe but I wouldn't be surprised if Blueprint had to dance for his life.
9. Carlos Garland - Carlos will also be dancing for his life. The Jive piece wasn't bouncing enough and personally I couldn't remember who Carlos was. Sorry to fans of him but I there are "bigger" personalities and talent in this guy pool.
10. Nico Greetham - Didn't have swag and could be his swan song. But next week is another day and he could pull an amazing redemption routine to convince this judges.

---------------------

In other news, glad to hear the announcement of Project Runway returning next month. Also new shows I've started to watch (and catch up on, since I work when these shows air) The Goodwin Games (FOX) and Devious Maids (Lifetime). I'm not ashamed to say that I'm watching a Lifetime show, but there has been "controversy" on the whole stereotyping and what not. I'm watching it as a show and they all so happened to be a certain ethnicity, big deal. Besides it's based off a Telenovela, just like many shows that air in the US. Funny that both new shows I'm watching have two actresses that have been in a show I also enjoyed but now has been off the air for three years, Ugly Betty. Ana Ortiz and Becky Newton are doing well for themselves. Too bad Vanessa Williams and Michael Urie didn't have much success, but they'll find something. Also I want America Ferrera back in my life, she needs to be in a TV series or do an Ugly Betty Movie.

Speaking of another Ugly Betty cast member, Christopher Gorham will be returning on USA's Covert Affairs next month and I'm looking forward to that. Plus I'm following him on twitter (no shame) and the locations he's traveling to, ridiculous and jealous! Also another USA show I'm glad that's back is Royal Pains and coming back next month Suits! Oh I did forget to mention Graceland is a new show I'm trying to watch. One of the show leads happens to be a Broadway vet and is now on the small screen.

---------------------

That was a lot of TV, life wise, it's a roller coaster but I'm taking it in strides and trying to stay positive and hopeful for the future!

Oh Big Brother starts at 8pm tonight! SO EXCITED!

Day 145

So I felt like blogging, and it's really late.

However I feel when I blog, that it should be a good amount of length as opposed to a quick blurb. If it was a quick blurb, I would just tweet about it.

My birthday had happened and I enjoyed my birthday this year! I'm looking forward to seeing what is in store for me.

I definitely made a BIG birthday wish and I'm hoping that I can work really hard to try and make it happen.

---------------------------------------

Today I went over to a friends house to hang out with others just to catch up and enjoy the "Summertime," technically it's Spring but apparently once it's June it's Summer....It's still Spring until June 20. Then Summer is June 21, for the Summer Solstice.

Anyways I digress....

Hang out and then we start to play video games...

I enjoy video games however I HATE and I do mean HATE to lose. I'm overly competitive and I'm a very poor sport at times most times. Especially when it's up against another overly competitive person. In the end it reiterated why I stopped playing video games and only play solo games. If I do play a video game again I just need to remember to have fun. That's what I learned when playing board games now...yeah

----------------------------------------

The Voice, so in my honest opinion that it's time for Holly Tucker to go home, plus she sang first which is usually the one people forget by the end of the program.

Michelle Chamuel is my FAVORITE! Then it's Amber Carrington.

I am TEAM USHER all the way! However it'll be tough because I feel this season in particular is heavily a country fan base. Which isn't bad but I'm just not a fan of the music. However Michelle's pick wasn't a fan of....(it was a country song, artist I'm not to fond of and it was country) #sorrynotsorry

So yeah that was an interesting twist that they're only eliminating one this week...I think they're milking viewers, since the summer season doesn't start for another couple of weeks...i.e. BIG BROTHER!!!!!!!

Ok I think this blog is long enough for me to feel like it isn't a quick blurb!

Day 131

Hey I'm getting better about blogging, its only been 11 days since my last post! Progress!

I just finished performing a production of Legally Blonde the Musical this past weekend and I've definitely learned a lot from the experience. I've learned that I can still sing, can still dance and I know that I've chosen a career I would like to do as a living. Being an Actor has and always been a dream of mine since I was born.

Speaking of birth...my birthday is coming up and I am looking forward to it. One thing I'll definitely doing is Skydiving. I do have a fear of heights but I really want to just jump out of a plane and fall to the ground with a parachute (of course). So I'm trying to plan a day to do it where the weather is SUNNY and I can bring a friend to watch the craziness unfold.

Also I really want to take a road trip again. Whether it be to a coast (East or West) or somewhere in Michigan. I think it'd be fun!
----------------------

Summer is getting closer and that means one thing....BIG BROTHER!!!! I can't wait for the show to start again and it'll be TWO WEEKS LONGER! So most likely a bigger cast and more twists!

Speaking of Reality TV....

DWTS ends tonight and I'm scheduled to work. But I HOPE that Val & Zendaya take home the mirror ball trophy!

The Voice - I won't be surprised if Team Usher and Team Shakira are left with one team member. But I also wouldn't be surprised if someone from Team Blake gets the boot. Team Adam is way to strong of a team to get booted tonight.
------------------------

I wish I took photos of myself before I started working out because I can definitely start seeing change in how I look. Definitely getting muscle and starting to get more toned. Which has been my goal, gain muscle mass but be toned.

However my running times are slowly but surely improving which is giving me confidence again in running. I enjoy running and hopefully can get myself into race form by summer's end!

Day 120

Again I've neglected to blog. But it's due to lack of motivation to do it after working, then rehearsal and trying to catch up on tv shows. Granted I do enjoy to multitask but I just couldn't get myself to blog during watching tv shows or jotting down stuff down.

I did however download through the App Store, it unfortunately is not available on the droid, but it's called Momento, it's a dairy/journal app. When I gave up social media, I used that to write or you could say "blog" for my personal use. But I didn't post any of it, which I should however all the info I wrote is lost due to the fact my phone needed to be restarted without any of my saved info. I digress....Momento is a great app and I will try and use it to help motivate me blog!

Going to the gym has been slightly difficult because of my rehearsal schedule, but that doesn't excuse myself from working out. I have somehow gained 6 pounds which I'm pretty sure has been muscle and that's a success, but I want to continue to work out and be fit! In EIGHT days is Race for the Cure in Detroit and I've decided this year to run the 5K and then do the 5K walk afterwards. So that's a total of 10K and I've been running to get my endurance up.

The show I'm currently in is "Legally Blonde the Musical," yes it's based on the book and movie. So it's been a fun experience, but I've been exhausted after each show. I manage to use any and all energy I have in the day during the show. Then afterwards I just want to veg. But I've been some great friends and continue to do what I love, THEATRE!

This past Monday, I attended the First Michigan Equity Theatre Association Conference. Which was very reaffirmed everything I learned in college and gave me confidence that I am doing what I love and I have a passion to learn! I also did their unified auditions the next day and hopefully will hear something later this year for possible opportunities (fingers crossed)
----------------------------------

So I'm sad to have seen Victor & Lindsay depart from DWTS. However I'm still glad to see Val & Zendaya and Aly & Mark are still in it! The finals are in two weeks! My prediction is they'll be safe for the finale! I'm predicting an ALL FEMALE celebrity final...meaning Derek & Kellie will join the already mentioned two couples into the finals. But I'm still not counting Jacoby & Karina out. Ingo & Kim are wild cards but we'll see.

Project Runway - Michelle won, the "underdog," but I really grew to like Patricia and wished she would have won. Nina Garcia seemed to be the demise to my hopes of Patricia being the winner. But that could just be editing.

BBCAN - Congrats to Jillian, as much as I was sad to see Gary lose, she won.

The Voice - Team Adam is the clearly the strongest team! Team Blake is a close second. You can definitely tell the lack of experience from Usher & Shakira. Their teams are good, but I want to see GREAT! Song choices are important and how they're being marketed. As Adam said, it should be about the music and not the game. However it's a game and their will be losers. Only one can win the title. Luckily the "saves" from the judges are done with and it's solely up to America. I won't be surprised if Team Usher & Team Shakira go out early. However I've been wrong about America, so we'll see. I am a fan however of Michelle Chamuel on Team Usher! Quirky, Nerdy and Rock Girl is in it to win!

-------------------------------

More of my co-workers are leaving which makes me sad but also makes me want to kick myself in the butt to get myself where I want to be. I would love to be in NYC and pursue theatre! But I also know I want to have a job secure. Then there is also debt and wanting to not be in it.

Being a grown up is hard, but that's life!

Day 92

I am enjoying my day off today from work!

With my day off from work I am enjoying catching up on my reality tv shows!

Right now I am watching the following shows:
- Dancing With The Stars
- The Voice
- Big Brother Canada
- Project Runway

I was also watching The Face, but that ended and the winner for me was a slight surprise but it is what it is.

Dancing With The Stars is a show that I enjoy for the mere fact it's Dancing. The celebrity aspect is funny and my final three pics right now are

- Kellie & Derek
- Zendya  & Val
- Jacoby & Karina

however I would enjoy to see these people in the finals

- Zendya & Val
- Aly & Mark
- Victor & Lindsay

But I feel like it may be following

- Kellie & Derek
- Ingo & Kim
- Jacoby & Karina

As much as I enjoy Kellie Pickler, I cannot stand Derek Hough winning this freaking show series. I'm pretty sure his three time championships and five out of ten trips to the finals it's safe to say Derek has built a fan base. Also it doesn't hurt that his partner has just as much if not more of a fan base too. Ingo has a huge following with soap opera. I was surprised but then I had to really think about the demographic this show is trying to get it makes sense. However Jacoby is definitely a wild card but since he's a sports guy they attract fans and that will keep him safe.

I would personally like to see youth dominate this competition. Victor is a wild card, but I am a fan of Lindsay for the fact she was on So You Think You Can Dance. However with this demographic Youth has a slim to none chance! Why because they like seeing the underdogs win. But let's be honest, the youth is the underdogs, why not vote for them?!?! Alright off my soapbox...Zendya was a surprise this season. However she does hip hop so I was excited to hear about that since I enjoy hip hop dancing but I was surprised they were trying to get the Disney Channel viewers to watch, when those kids/demographic should be focusing on education or actually learning to dance. You'd think because she was an Olympian she'd be great, she's in my opinion not even close to where Shawn was but definitely has a lot of work ahead of her.

The Voice is getting good. I am enjoying Shakira & Usher joining the show! Adam and Blake are still good too for their little bromance segments. I'm surprised that they've been playing up the Latino Audiences with the multi-lingualness of Shakira. Spanish, Portuguese and English...I wish I could speak that many.

Right now here's how I rank the judges teams:

Team Adam
Team Shakira
Team Usher
Team Blake

Adam has a girl who sang with Michael Jackson and Adam is definitely taking a page from Blake last season and really playing on multiple genre artists. Not focusing too much on pop but actually going for a Voice. Which is smart. I enjoy Shakira's team it's very diverse and will play well with the Latino Audience. Usher is currently under the radar with his team but I won't be surprised if his team has many stand outs this season. Blake is playing to his country roots and if people know me I am not a fan of country. So obviously he's not in my top team but also he's kinda playing it safe with the artists he's been getting and selecting. I will be looking forward to the Knockout Rounds and possible steals!

Big Brother Canada (BBCA)!

For anyone who knows me, Big Brother is my guilty pleasure show! I LOVE this show! It's a great mix of the Real World (having strangers randomly picked to live in a house) and Survivor (Outwit, Outplay and Outlast)! The fact that Canada has been begging to get a show and they finally have one it's pretty cool to watch. Granted I am watching via internet but it's worth it! Plus BBCA really took the time to make sure their first season was great! And it's getting their...I'm not saying it's not great right now but it's becoming predictable. But that happens with every show. The producers can do only so much to appeal the the audience and to let the guinea pigs (the houseguests) do what they're doing.

So anyways my favorite players in the game are the ones who are actually playing. Do I like some of their moves, NO but they're playing the game AND/OR at least getting airtime. Which is the most important thing. If you're not getting airtime then you're doing something wrong. You're either playing too safe or your story isn't good enough to get you some camera time.

People playing the game:

- Gary
- Alec
- Peter

Floaters:
- Jillian
- Emmett
- Talla

Lost Causes
- Topaz
- Andrew

At first when I read about Gary, I wasn't on board, however seeing him play the game has surprised me. Alec & Peter our obvious game players and if the houseguests were smart enough vote them out. Gary is obviously on the chopping block, but I really like the message Gary is sending. However I think he's over doing it now with the dramatics. I'm glad he's calm down the glitter though. Jillian is supposedly a good player according to AJ but he got voted out and he had been a pawn for four evictions he got lucky his first three but the his last sealed the deal. But he's not going home just yet he's a Juror. Which I'm predicting a mellow jury, unlike Big Brother 14 here in the US. However Jillian is just boring to me, she's just canoodling with Emmett and I'm bored with her. Emmett lost his bromance Tom and he's just a lost duck and is just floating to whoever has power. Talla is just a wild card but she's floater at best. Unless she wins HOH she's no game player for me. But I do see her with a lot of potential since she's been close multiple times for HOH. So there is hope for her.

Peter said it best, Topaz should have kept her mouth shut and not kept yapping. However I LOVED this twist. It's brilliant, it's BIG BROTHER! I would hate to have that happen to me. But I know I probably would have done what Topaz did. Topaz though should always remember, (canada's motto) Big Brother is always watching! And to Expect the Unexpected (US BB motto). Andrew is an idiot. You put up Topaz because she put you up!?!? Typical move, why not have backdoor her. Then again she can take herself and Gary off the block. However if you wanted to make a big move, TAKE OUT ALEC & PETER! This is a game, yes, you'll lose numbers for putting them up but it's a week to week game. You can plan as much as you want far out but you need to throw some curve balls. But we'll see what happens. Plus the house flip flops day to day. So if Andrew wants Gary out he'll probably go out unless Topaz does something really stupid! But it definitely sucks if you're on the chopping block up with someone in your alliance. However you've got to look out for yourself! If they're out and you're safe then move on and play the game. Janelle is a great example. As many of her alliance members got voted off she continued to fight to win power. But she may be a great player she has yet to be a winner. I say that because let's be honest, we all know Janelle will probably be back in the BB US house one season. Maybe not this upcoming season but another. I just hope this next season they have some new blood, fresh faces and a DIVERSE CAST! Ok off my soapbox again sorry!

Day 90

So obviously there is a big gap from Jan 26 to now....

However I am back!

So for Lent this year I decided to give up Social Media; which meant the following

I wouldn't actively participate or go on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, Pintrest, GoodReads, Blogger, etc.

I would however still read blogs but not comment and use e-mail.

---------------------

What did I learn from all of this?

I am addicted to Social Media but I did learn how to control my addiction/obsession over it. I actually had so conversations with people outside of social media. Whether that be a face to face meeting, text messaging or phone conversation or email.

I did enjoy however not always feeling like having a need to check everyone's business on social media and posting about things going on in my life. But at the same time missed that as well since it seems like that's the only way to really keep communication going with anyone anymore.

Social media is a great outlet and I definitely wish I didn't give it up some days. However I remember that it's a privilege to have the accessibility to check always, when their are people who don't even use it or know how.

------------------------

However my life continued on through my sacrifice of Social Media, so here's what happened.

  • I did my first video submission and after countless hours of filming, editing and getting feedback....I submitted it. Then afterwards (fast forward a couple weeks) I reflected and realized I am not great at video submission and MUCH BETTER in person. Why is this? I over analyze and try too hard, but if it was a face to face audition I know I can rock it out. So it just means I need to continue to work on working for the camera. Maybe one of theses days I'll muster up the courage to do a video blog entry
  • Went to a Fairie Ball, where my friend Courtney was in a major promoter of the event and was the previous year's Fairie Queen. It was a lot of fun getting to hang out with friends and people watch but the best moment was...being crowned this year's Fairie King! I know that sounds ridiculous but I dressed up in my Fairie costume with make up and wings to win the title. However I wasn't expecting accolades to happen after. So there was a photographer at the event and of course took pictures of the event and pictures of the new Fairie King and Queen.
Click the photo see more from the event!
Fast forward to the following week to hear that the pictures are online and was featured in my local newspaper. So my face was plastered online and on paper. It was kind of crazy but I literally thought nothing of it since, A) who reads newspapers still? and B) who's going to look to read about the Fairie Ball?....However I was WRONG! Turns out the director of one of my shows I was in saw it and then brought the paper to rehearsal to show me and my cast mates. THEN I go into work the next day to hear that one of my co-workers saw me in the paper. Embarrassed? YES but ASHAMED? NOPE! It was good publicity for the event and was at least flattered to hear that people I knew where excited to see me in a paper and that they knew someone in it. So as much as I was embarrassed (A LOT) I still had a fun time!

  • I went to see an advance screening of a movie I was in and It was awesome! Though it wasn't a movie premiere it felt like one. Plus it was good to see old friends and I even got a picture with one of the executive producers of the film! Such a honor to have had the great opportunity to be in a film and see all the hard work come together!

  • I had to say "See You Later" to one of my co-workers as they transferred to another store. I can say however Ryan, has been an amazing person. I saw him as a mentor at my work and I was sad to see him go, but I know that our paths will cross again!

So that pretty much catches you (the READERS of my blog, and THANK YOU) on what's going on right now! Hopefully in the near future I shall continue updating what's going on!

In the meantime, Happy Sunday, Happy Easter, Happy Zombie Jesus, Happy Day!

Day 25

I was off again yesterday and spent most of my day watching Ugly Betty, which is a funny show. Very ABC/Disney kind of show.

Then went and celebrated my friend Lauren's birthday. Lauren, Courtney and Courtney's boyfriend Dennis went to Oishi restaurant in Novi.

We had ordered a lot of food and we ate all of it. Then afterwards we went over to Courtney's house and played a game Lauren got called For Sale. It was a lot of fun!

Day 24

Uhhhh ummmmm ahhhhhh - Pitch Perfect

Thursday was fun! I went to the auto show with my friend John and I even saw an old friend while I was there.

It was good to see an old friend and getting a free hot wheels car!

The auto show was a lot if fun!

Day 21

I got cast in BOTH shows!!!!!! I feel so humbled and honored to be able to do what I love! I can't wait for both shows to start!

The first read through is tomorrow!

Day 23

So realizing I missed day 21, I'm kinda sad, but you know what, nobody is perfect.  SUCCESS I DID BLOG day 21! However I am still keeping up with my resolutions.

Let's be honest resolutions are meant to be goals and it's ok to have "off" days.

So like me paying off debt, that is still slowly getting done and I know it's not going to get all paid off all in one day, unless I win the lottery or something.

Going to the gym has been slightly on haitus but I am wanting to go, but the fact I have been getting less hours at work I have no reason to travel close to my work. With gas prices at what they are, plus what my hours are at work, which pays my bills, I've got to be conscious of what I'm spending.

Yesterday I had my first rehearsal for Almost Maine and I'm really excited about my characters. I'm going to be doing a comedy this time around for plays. I've done a murder mystery and before that was an abstract absurdist type of play. So I'm glad I'm able to go from one genre to another.

Also I'm doing a musical and I can't wait to have rehearsal for that!

Day 22

Didn't do much.

Started rewatching Ugly Betty and am enjoying watching it.

Went to work.

Yeah pretty much it

Day 20

I've made it to 20 days! Feeling proud that I have posted twenty days! Granted some of my entries have been short.

Anyways the Canton One Acts Festival has ended and I was really sad, but was glad for the experience. I found out my director/playwright was producing a show for his next theatre thing an auditions were being held yesterday evening.

::side note::
I had been emailing ferociously the director and producer for the Farmington Players next show Legally Blonde the Musical about getting an audition. As mentioned yesterday I got an audition. However it was during strike for the One Acts.
::end side note::

So after the show was over, we began strike. Which didn't take to long and was able to get to the audition for Farmington Players!

However this past weekend I was plagued with inflamed nasal cavities, which the have me nasal congestion and many symptoms I thought were the flu. So going to the musical auditions I was going in with a hoarse voice.

To my surprise the director was someone whom I've auditioned with an knew what my voice sounded like when I was since or hoarse. So I was relieved however was apologizing up the wazoo. It was nice however having considerate director, musical director and producer.

After the audition I then rushed to the next audition. Which was for St. Dunstan's theatre guild's Almost Maine. Which I have seen before and was really excited to auditioned!

Overall even with a hectic weekend it was such an awesome one too!

Day 19

So I realize these post have been brief...but due to this stupid nasal sickness issue I am having it's been difficult to eloquently type everything in my day.

However the show yesterday went well! Though I can tell my voice is getting affect by all the nasal drainage and being stuffed up.

But I carried on and the audience enjoyed the show and so I can't complain!

I found out about an audition for Legally Blonde the Musical which is being put on by a local theatre company in my city. However the kicker was it was during my show and so I have been frantically emailing the producer as well as the director to try and get an audition in...*SPOILER* I got an audition and will tell you more tomorrow...

come back tomorrow to learn more!

Day 18

Yup it's definitely looking like I am sick, but its not going to stop me. I've got tea, honey, DayQuil & NyQuil on my side.

The show went well the first night!

Sad to think it ends tomorrow.

But my next opportunity awaits

Day 17

Final Dress rehearsal yesterday and I felt horrible. I was definitely running a fever and having a runny nose. Luckily I had been heavily medicated myself to make sure I would get super sock today.

Thankful I was off yesterday to get myself better. Luckily today feeling better!

Day 16

Not feeling to well *SPOILER* Starting to get sick....however I'll write about that tomorrow.

Had the day off again and enjoyed my time at home. Did some reading on trying to perfect my audition video for Big Brother 15. Also starting to have a runny nose...not a good sign...

Went to rehearsal it went well, the stage is nice! Excited to have an audience Friday!

Day 15

Had the day off and enjoyed my time off from work. Also decided that I would take a day off from working out too.

Had rehearsal and its going great! Can't wait for the show to open Friday.

Also continued working my audition tape for Big Brother, hopefully soon I'll record it and get some opinions about the video. I really REALLY want to get on this season!

I am determined and confident in trying.

Day 14

Went to work and decided that I am going to apply for a position for a great opportunity and we'll see how that goes.

Then I worked out and continued my six weeks to 5k run. It went well and feeling better about getting back into long distance running.

Afterwards had some food the took a nap.
Then I went and hung out with my coworkers at a bar in Howell. Had a good time and then decided today I would work on my audition tape/casting call pitch to be on Big Brother 15!

More details to come later

Day 13

Finally went back to the gym and finished my first week of workout to running a 5k in six weeks. I felt really good running 2.5 miles. However I wasn't happy with the time, but I know in time that will slowly improve. I do though need to keep myself in check so I don't get another stress fracture. When I was in high school during my senior year I got a stress fracture in my ankle. But anyways yeah gotta keep myself in check.

Then I watched the Golden Globes. Which for a quick recap; Girls won big, Argo made some users and Les Mis was a big winner too. Oh Adele won for co-writing Skyfall and former President Clinton showed up too! I thoroughly enjoyed this year's ceremony with Tina Fey and Amy Pohler as hosts!

Also made a hilarious meme of Taylor Swift pissed that Adele beat her.

Day 11

Game night #2 happened yesterday and it was a lot of fun.

We played Avalon, which is a lot like mafia or werewolf if you've ever played that. In the end Evil somehow always won and the good guys lost.

Then we played Cards Against Humanity which is like the adult version of Apples to Apples. We played this because Courtney's brother Chris wasn't able to play it with us during Christmas Eve and so we played it again.

Took a day off from the gym and enjoyed my time away. However I shall go back on Sunday.

Day Ten

Going strong and posting about my 10th day!

Yesterday was good. Worked in the morning and the went and worked out. I was really worried it would be busy but thankfully it wasn't crowded.

Afterwards headed to get some food before I went to perform a teaser for the show I am in. What was really cool was the audience was really engaged and definitely interested people to come to the Canton One Acts festival next weekend. 1/18-1/20, Friday & Saturday at 8pm the a Sunday Matinee at 2pm.

Tickets can be bought at cantononeacts.com

Come see the show

Day Nine

I was going to write about my time at work but today has been a busy day.

Also I think I am going to stop drinking pop soon...trying to cut unnecessary things from my diet and not being normal weight obesity. I want to be fit!

Wednesday, January 9, 2013

Day Eight

I finally went to the gym finally in the new year! I kind of been slacking on going, however I finally went and it felt great! What wasn't great was all the "New Year's Resolution" folk finally going to the gym to get themselves in shape. Granted it is one of my resolutions, I however have been going for a good two months now on a regular basis, while having a membership at the gym for over a year now. So I can easily say it's kind of frustrating to see a surge of people. But it is good for the gym's business and it supplies income for their workers, so I'm not complaining too much!

I really miss long distance running and I read an article in Men's Health about a routine to get yourself ready for a 5k in six weeks. So I copied the training schedule and will be doing that on top of my regular work out routine. But really my regular work out routine is weights, abs and yoga. However I would really like to get at least to a 24 min 5k racing time. In my "prime" I could run a 5k on average 19 min. Alas years of not running consistently has definitely slowed me but it's ok, I was pursing other ventures, mainly my degree (theatre).

After my workout I had a late shift at work and headed off to work. Luckily I had brought food because during my shift I was starving and needed to get some food in. Granted I had worked out before going to work and didn't replenish afterwards didn't help. But I was glad I packed food. Finally getting off work noticed my car had ice and if you remember I lost my ice scrapper, so it definitely made getting home a little longer. Luckily one of my co-workers was nice enough to help me out! It's always nice and definitely paying it forward!

Day Seven

Yesterday was a relaxing day.

Had the day off and pretty much relaxed.

I did however have rehearsal for my show.

Then hung out with some friends and played cards. Didn't win but it was still fun.

Short entry yes, but more to come!

Day Six

Yesterday I had planned a game night with my friend Courtney. The reason being her brother Chris wanted to play "Cards Against Humanity," however due to lack of communication, Chris was scheduled to work during our time of game night.

We being Courtney, her boyfriend Dennis and her best friend Lauren, all had our game night as planned. We had played three games.

--------------------

The first game was the Doodle Game, which I had learned and played last weekend with Michael.

Doodle Game or Broken Telephone Drawing Game
- sheets of scrap paper
- pens or pencil

So to play depending in how many players there are in the game determines how many scraps of paper everyone gets. So in our game we had four players, so each player had four scraps of paper.

Then you can play this in three different levels, easy, intermediate/medium, or hard. We did easy, which is a specific category is selected. We selected todo Disney Movies.

Each player writes down their "answer" on one of the scrap pieces if paper and then flip all the pieces of paper over, with their answer closest to the table/ground. When you were finished rather than asking everyone if they were done, we would hold up a thumbs up, to be kind and patient to the other players still thinking.

As a group we would pass the scraps of paper to the right. Then the player on the left would flip the scraps of paper up to see the "answer" and then draw what is written.

After the players are done drawing the previous player's "answer," then would flip all the scraps over again and wait until everyone is finished.

Again pass all the scraps of paper again and the next player to receive the scraps of paper would have to guess from the drawing the original player's "answer."

This process would continue switching from drawing and writing the answer until all the scraps of paper gets back to their original player.

Once each players' "answers" have fond to everyone, then as a group will reveal to everyone what their answer was and how each player then interpreted it through drawing or thought the answer was.

We played three rounds; our intermediate round was a "noun/verb", and our hard round was a sentence. Here are some pictures of our doodle game below.

----------------

The next game we played was called Time's Up!

Time's Up is an actual board game and can be purchased online or at a game store.

Time's Up is a memory/charades/taboo game. This is played in teams of two or more but we did two teams since we only had four players and it was Guys against Girls.

There are a stack of cards in the middle of the table, which were preselected by each played. We were given a certain amount of cards (we selected 10) then we had to discard a certain amount cards (we discarded three). Then the cards in each players hand then get shuffled.

The object of the game is to win the most amount of cards by guessing what is on the card.

So in the first round the player who looks at the words can say unlimited words but cannot sing the tune, say the a word in the answer but can do rhymes or sounds like. While the person guessing in the first round has unlimited guesses. The person who is looking at the answer can't pass the card until it is answered correctly. The person guessing has to answer as many of the stacked cards in 30 seconds. The rounds end when the stack of cards are depleted.

After the first round everyone reveals which ones they have. Then they are all collected, reshuffled and we begin round two.

This is where the memory and charades come in. This round the person looking at the answer can only say one word but can do unlimited gestures. While the player guessing can only guess once. If the guesser answers incorrectly the person looking at the card passes and goes onto the next card. While guesser still has 30 seconds to guess as many as they can.

The third round is no words only gestures and only one guess. In the end the ladies won the game.

In a fourth round just for fun we did where the person looking at card does a tableaux and the person guessing has one shot of guessing from the tableaux.

----------------------

The final game if the night was a card game called "Love Letter," and this game you can purchase online and most likely in a game store too.

Love game is sort of like Old Maid but there is also strategy and problem solving involved.

The goal of the game is to win four love cubes, while each round you want to be the last player standing and be the player with the highest counting card.

We played two games of this and the first game Dennis won and the last game Courtney won.

------------------

Game night was such a blast and look forward to the next one!

Day Five

This is a late night post.

Overall good day very chill.

Currently it's snowing outside which I am happy but also upset. When I made the trip down to see my friend Michael, I somehow lost my ice scrapper. So I need to purchase another one sooner rather than later.

Looking forward to tomorrow/later today. It's game night with me and some of my friends. We'll be playing some board games and catching up.

Today was a good day and looking forward to the next!

Day Four

So this may be a day late, however I had a busy day yesterday.

I went and helped out at the CW50 casting call for America's Next Top Model cycle 20.

I'll be blogging about that separately...

But I can say is it was an awesome experience helping out. It's always fun working auditions but for reality tv is definitely different.

The casting call took pretty much my whole day, but then I headed over to Northville for my friend's delayed bday party/gathering.

What I didn't expect was going out after that. We went to a club and I am not big going out to clubs, but since my friend wanted to go I thought why not and I ending up having fun.

Day Three

This one's going to be a bit short.

Heading to the gym to work out.

Work immediately following that.

Hanging out with some friends after work.

Luckily tomorrow I am off.

If I get the chance tonight, I'll update this more!

Otherwise today has been/still is a good day!

Day Two

I had a great day today. Finally was able to sleep in and get a full night's sleep.

This past weekend I surprised my best friend Michael for his birthday.

I contacted his mom to make sure I wasn't going to come during anything important. Luckily I was able to work things out and was able to surprise him. The best part I even left subtle clues the day of the surprise. I arrived about 45min (12:45am) into his birthday and I sent him a text wishing him a Happy Birthday along with a picture of his house. I got an awesome reaction and text from it.

However I digress...

So today I contact Nike about my little error I had been receiving on my Nike+
What's really cool about Nike is that their customer support can be contact in four different ways. Email, Phone or Social Media (Facebook and/or Twitter). So I contacted them via twitter and I was lucky to get help through it. I now have a new nike fuel band (granted this is my third one, because the first one had battery issue and this last one has had hardware issue) let's hope third times the charm.

Work was good. I made a new contact and really looking forward to the possible opportunity for another job! So keeping my fingers crossed.

After work I headed over to the gym to work out. Pleasant surprise saw my co-worker with his brother working out. Always cool seeing familiar faces at the gym.

Today had been a good day! Can't wait for tomorrow!

Day One

So 2012 has gone and it's now 2013. It's another day, Tuesday to be exact and it has felt like any other day except it's a new year.

Here are some of my New Year's Resolutions

1. Blog every day - whether it be a short or long or somewhere in between I shall blog. This will help me just look back at the day and to reflect. Plus I enjoy just rambling and a story usually ensues.

2. Work Out  - Generic yes, but I shall stick with it. I did good the past few months so I'm going to continue with it. Luckily I am able to go to a gym that's near my work and where I live so I can't really complain about not having time when the gym is right there. Also when it gets warmer running outside

3. Find someone - Let's be honest we all want to be in a relationship so I think this year will be a good year. Granted I've to stick myself out their and just go for it so we'll see how this one goes.

4. Continue to pay debt - We all have bills and this isn't going away until it's all paid for. So good resolution right?!?

5. Positivity - End the day on a good note as well as start the day with the expectation that it will be a good day. Trying not to let the negative get me down or stress me out.

---------------

All my resolutions are definitely achievable and not out of the ordinary. Plus it's things I've been (trying) to do already so it's not like I'm completely starting new.
