Big Brother Season 14 Episode Three

Let's review, Willie (Survivor Russell Hantz's Brother) was selected to be HOH after his coach Britney choose him as well as Shane and Jojo for her team. Willie then puts of Frank (who's on Boogie's team) and Kara (who's on Dan's team) up for elimination.

Big Brother Season 14 Episode Two

Hello BB14 fans and viewers...if you're reading this, Thanks! I hope you enjoy my recap of tonight's episode. Also if you're a fan of the show and don't like spoilers, fair warning SPOILERS WILL BE MENTIONED!

It was really sad to see Jodi. If you haven't gotten a chance check out Jodi's exit video with Julie Chen on cbs.com. However Dan, their coach and Michigan naitive, made it clear he wants to make sure his houseguests stay in the game and thought having a good connection (both Kara & Danielle) would be better than Jodi who was on the outs with connecting with his two other houseguests' on his team.

Back to the show itself.

Willie is HOH, thanks to his coach  Britney. Janelle, what a SMART woman. Granted this is her THIRD time in the Big Brother house, so obviously she knows a thing or two. Plus Big Brother Competitions Queen. Really smart to talk with Britney the winning coach of the team that won HOH. Was anyone really surprised when Willie finally admitted to being Russell's brother from Survivor? I know I wasn't. I would be careful because that's gonna come bite you back later on.

I forget that everyone's perception of past houseguests are what they've done in the past. Yes, I would agree that both Dan & Boogie were manipulators but it's part of the game. But way to bring "Girl Power," it's smart however don't get to overconfident. I really enjoyed what Frank had said during the show about not letting the coaches control of the game. Which I ABSOLUTELY agree! They're coaches. Do players always listen to them? NO! But when they do it can go really good or really bad. I just hope that these houseguests remember they're playing the game as much as these coaches are too. Don't become puppets of their own game.

Ian's little segment was a bit quirky and odd, but go figure he's the youngest contestant this season as well as a big fan of the show. Of course he's going to be a bit off. Isn't anyone who's willing to be on the show? Willie, don't act all macho sitting in that HOH room, remember that only lasts for A WEEK!

In revealing a new competition to the game, it was only a matter of time when they'd involve the coaches. But it definitely was a "game changer" as they'd like to say in Big Brother lingo. I really thought Dan throwing the competition was a good move but also a bad one at the same time. Yes it creates a big target on your other player, but WHY WOULDN'T YOU NOT WANT TO WIN?!? You're risking $100,000 just to throw the competition so you look like you're houseguests are floaters and not threats?!? What was surprising was Boogie beating Janelle. However it wasn't surprising by his decision to save Ian. That was also a good/bad move. Why save a houseguest nobody likes when your supposedly strong houseguest you have confidence in, Frank may be on the chopping block. Also you're building Ian's ego and his Big Brother Fanatic of you. Chilltown 3.0 (which has been dubbed by Janelle) won't be good as the original.

For just a fan of the show who doesn't subscribe to the live feeds (did I mention I graduated college last year and now paying for my student loans) so getting that opportunity to be a "fly in the wall" isn't happening. So I'm really basing off this from watching the episodes CBS airs which you know they have to edit A LOT of footage as well as prepare segments. Which if you think it's all easy, just imagine trying to cram for a big test and the test is in mere hours when you have information that it will cover since the beginning of time. That's what the folks at Big Brother have to do every week for three episodes. Reality TV is tough but also something that can be easy to start getting into a rhythm. You'll know what happens...someone wins HOH, people get nominated, coach saves one of their houseguests, Power of Veto (POV), POV ceremony, someone get's evicted and then the cycle will start again. But it's that footage in between, the interactions with other contestants is what makes the show and the stories they tell about themselves.

Currently this is where I rank the coaches;

1. Janelle - For the fact she's wanting to target the other coaches to go home. She's playing the game as she should but also building her allegiance. 
2. Britney - Having picked the right players and them winning HOH.
3. Dan - Even though he didn't win the Coaches' Competition, he's still above the game play of person below. 
4. Boogie - Yes it's a social game, but watch your mouth. You may be doing more harm than good. Also it took you TWO times to actually win Big Brother...just saying. Also does Boogie remember Jun (Big Brother Season Four winner?) because last time I checked she cooked for the house and she got pretty far...*cough* actually winning her season *cough*

The following three are who I think are playing the game well:

1. Willie - You won HOH, good job, for having a coach that wants you to do well in the game. But remember those who come strong in the beginning need to keep that momentum into next week, when your safety is on the line since you will be ineligible to be next week's HOH.
2. Frank - You talk the talk now can you play it? It's good to be the good guy but that only lasts so long before you're going to have to make smart moves and start aligning with people you can rely on. Obviously Willie may not be someone you can rely on.
3. Kara - Being Dan's top pick and the fact the coaches (Britney & Janelle) are talking about you and want you out, well done. The good girl persona is working, but just like Frank you've got to start making moves. Those who get nominated first should realize they need to light the fire to fuel them up to play the game. Plus you haven't really talked with Willie? That can be good and bad. Bad since you're up for elimination, Good that you're not kissing the HOH. I personally DO NOT LIKE FLOATERS!

The following three aren't doing enough to play the game

1. Ian - You got lucky being saved...Now hopefully he'll do something about not being a "Creep" to the other houseguests
2. Joe - Cooking is a good thing, but share the food and start some conversations. 
3. Jen - If your coach is saying you're good at your social game but is throwing you under the bus (i.e. Telling Dan that if he had to evict someone who his choice was) that's not a good sign of your gameplay.

And the following are what I like to call, ”Floaters," you may be asking what is a "Floater," well they're people who like to just go with whatever the majority goes with. You know not think for themselves and just follow as oppose to leading. These people haven't shown me either being a good or bad game plays:

1. Wil - PLAY YOUR OWN GAME! PLEASE! Don't FLOAT! SINK OR SWIM!
2. Jojo - You can deal with Villans? ::sigh:: ok sure we'll see. Just keep nodding your head but remember that you're FLOATING and not playing a game! Change that!
3. Ashley - If people are calling you an airhead, that's not a good thing.

Wild Cards are Shane & Danielle because they really didn't get any airplay during the show that was worth being ranked as a game player at the moment.

Big Brother Season 14 Episode One

This season of Big Brother has FINALLY STARTED!

So I'm going to be blogging about this season in hopes to do the following:

1. Get more followers to view my blog. Hopefully comments and discussion will ensue
2. Force me to blog more
3. Get noticed hopefully in a tasteful and good way to those in casting to be considered for next year
4. For the fact I MET someone on the show this season

Granted with blogging it's all a matter of opinion and know that these are my opinions. I will respect everyone and anyone who wishes to respond. In return please respect my opinions. Nobody likes negativity though it's bound to happen. Let's just agree to disagree!

Let's get started the houseguests.

First impressions are always important to me. So actually seeing everyone speak as oppose to just photos was good.

It's always interesting where they get their "key" segment. However this time it was an "invitation" and not a "key" which was impressive to see a few of them question, where their key was to the "Big Brother house." That alone should have been a clue for "expect the unexpected."

While watching the show a good friend of mine asks why are they are being chosen to enter the house. My friend isn't a fan of the show nor really has any interest in reality tv, but they put up with my obsession and we're still good friends. I responded back to them by saying it's a matter of getting a bed and then scoping out the house. Plus any Super FAN would also make note of who entered at what time. Why you ask? Because they'll use that information at a later time during competitions where your mental stamina is tested. My friend just rolled their eyes and they told me to keep watching while they did something else.

Then the TWIST (of many more to come) was revealed. PAST HOUSEGUEST would be BACK IN THE BIG BROTHER HOUSE! However they were to compete as COACHES! Which is BRILLIANT! Not only are you bringing back fan favorites, but you're also allowing them to give their insight to the game to the players. However it is still a game and those houseguests can take their coaches opinions with a grain of salt. 

I am glad to see three of the four returning houseguests. I'm a fan of Britney (Season 12), Dan (Season 10) and Janelle (Season Six & Season Seven aka All Stars). It was really great to hear about what has been going on with their lives; getting married, having a kid, etc. What was really interesting was to see how they each would choose their houseguests to coach.

So it's not a surprise when CBS likes to do some cross-overs. But this really wasn't a cross-over as to more family and their wanting to apply for a reality show which happens to be on the same network but a different competition. Big deal that Willie is Russell's relative. He's a different player.

It was disheartening to see Team Dan, lose the HOH (Head Of Household) Competition. How the coaches chose their players were interesting. In my opinion these would be my standings of how the coachers are faring:

1. Team Britney - Due to the fact her team won the HOH competition
2. Team Janelle - Though a bit of an odd ball group, they'll be interesting to see their game play and how Janelle will coach them.
3. Team Dan - Though they are a "man" down as Julie Chen (aka Chenbot - a nickname from her given by viewers)  Dan tried his best to pick the best players he thought would be good for his team. I find it interesting he chose all females for his team. Time will tell how that fares
4. Team Boogie - I enjoy the houseguests he chose, I'm just not a fan of him and his gameplay is not one I enjoy. He does make a good point of it being a social game, but that will only take you so far. I hope he doesn't bring "Chill Town" into this Big Brother House.

It was one of the more interesting first episodes in a while. I enjoyed this twist A LOT MORE than the past two. At least this time around the returning houseguests are coaches. Which I commend the producers and those in production on the show for doing. It's definitely following with reality tv trend (i.e. X Factor, The Voice, etc). Not that it's a bad thing but hey if it's working on one show it's bound to work for another right? 

All in all I'm looking forward to the rest of my summer watching this show! =]

Better late than never

So I know I've definitely neglected to continue blogging, but that's life. As I've said before I will try to blog.

On a somber note, I am sad to say that I won't be volunteering at this year's International Thespian Festival. I have got to that festival for NINE YEARS and this year would have been my 10th! I was a participant for four years and five years as a volunteer. It has been my annual "summer camp" adventure and this year due to a series of events it just wasn't going to happen. Its kind of a bummer that I won't be there this year after seeing the program and all the cool things going to happen, but I'm happy to have seen it grow.

This summer I definitely think is the year of AUDITIONS! I'm auditioning for so many different things whether it be on stage or on tv, I've been preparing and practicing. Each audition is an experience, win lose or draw. Plus it's always a great story.

 It was a rainy day at this year's Race for the Cure!

Random fun fact, I found out a friend of mine joined my fraternity at his college and it was a great way to reconnect and share stories of our chapters.

All in all this summer is turning out to be another great adventure!

Auditioning for Reality TV

Before I get into the topic, ***SPOILER*** I was right about the winner of the voice! ...Moving on...

***NOTE*** This post has taken me quite a few days to write....

Something sorta embarrassing to admit but if you really know me isn't really news worthy...I'm a reality tv junkie. I watch those shows and get really into them as if I were on the show interacting with the contestants.

For a few years now I thought, why not apply, I'm of age and I would love to do the show. NOT because of fame, but as a fan of the show and the fact that I LOVE competition. Also I'm very DRAMATIC and I LOVE drama; this all according to my friends....hahaha

Sad to admit but I've auditioned for three different reality tv shows. One was for a singing competition and the other two was for real life competition. All three I've been rejected for and I definitely think the first one definitely hurt, A LOT! I felt like a loser that I had spent so much time, money and energy trying to get on a show. However one thing I did learn was that I definitely can psyche myself out. Definitely used that to help improve on any other auditions whether it be for film or stage.

Like I've written about "rejection" it's never a great feeling but it's an emotion that you need to express. However it's how you do it will show your own personal character. I definitely felt like I've been through both the high and low roads. One thing I've definitely remind myself that it's ALWAYS a learning experience. So that's what I'm doing it's a learning experience.

Also I've learned to keep moving on, as if I didn't get it. My life doesn't stop for one thing and for sure it's not the end. One door closes another door will open. It's another new chapter.

All in all it was such a great experience.

Thoughts from this week's The Voice Live Show

So the people that went home had the worse performances for the night. With that being said, I wasn't thrilled to see Cheesa or Mathai still in the competition. They can go home....like tomorrow during sing for your life, because let's be honest....the final two for both Team Adam and CeeLo are:

Team Adam:
Tony Lucca (Adam's Pick to Save)
Katrina Parker (America's Save)

Team CeeLo
Juliet Simms (America's Save)
Jamar Rogers (CeeLo's Pick to Save)

Cheesa and Mathai may have a good voice, but not as strong as either Tony, Katrina, Juliet, or Jamar in my opinion.

In my opinion it's really obvious now who the final four are...but one thing is for sure it's definitely not going to be a repeat of last year, Team Adam is weaker than the other teams. But that's just me...hopefully America is on the same page as me.

I was surprised Jordis was in the bottom, but thankfully she was saved.
And really the audience was for Ashley?!?! UGH!
She can go home! I'll predict America won't be voting for her and in the bottom AGAIN and then we'll see her go! IF not, then I don't know what they're hearing.

The Voice Live Show Last Night

So to get myself to blog more, I'm going to critique some reality tv shows, because I am kinda reality tv junkie. I think I've mentioned this before, I've actually auditioned for some for fun and though I didn't "move on" I still had a ton of fun trying and made friends along the way.

But again back to last night's show: ***WARNING: Theses are my opinions and you don't have to like what I say but please respect my critique. ***

Jermaine Paul - definitely felt he was a great choice to open the show. When I looked at Team Blake's team, he was definitely the front runner from all the other artists. Plus he was a background singer for Alicia Keys, so you know he can sing and he's got her as a fan. So you know he's not going to be eliminated at least for now...You NEVER know how America votes, however I like to think I'm part of the majority than the minority, but I've been wrong too.

Chris Mann - Another strong artist and the stronger vocalist on Team Christina. He really sparked me with his rendition of Power of Love. A dude singing a Celine Dion song is really crazy to think of, but the fact that he has an opera background definitely gave it a good rendition. I feel that America sometimes like hype more than sound and Chris may be in the bottom.

RaeLynn - Pop song going country. The bromance from Blake Shelton and Adam Levine is still there, even if one of their artist is caught in the middle. It sounded surprisingly good. She's got "Nashville" behind her, so I'm going to safely assume she's safe for now. Her age may get the best of her with the other artists on Team Blake.

Moses Stone - One of the more controversial choices on Team Christina. However his performance of "Stonger/Power" by Kanye West was actually good. I was surprised. I think some of the judges are stuck on vocal singing as "The Voice." Christina made a good point about vocality being not just about a singing, a voice can also be rap. I was a little surprised The Line had been eliminated but I'm glad to see Moses move on and he definitely improved.

Naia Kete - She's Team Blake's second season Dia Frampton but not even. I LOVED Dia and Naia definitely isn't living up to her "type casting" on Team Blake. I'm sorry but her voice is really similar to Dia's however Dia has really fine tuned her voice. I definitely think Naia will be in the bottom of Team Blake this week, if she's not, them I'm not with the majority of America. However I know that America is kinda over hearing (right now) of Adele.

Lindsay Pavao - I'm going to be honest, kinda didn't watch the performance and just listened to her voice singing while typing my notes for the show and let me tell you I wasn't impressed. I will give her credit for being unique but I just didn't vibe with her style. It's just not for me but for others may be. But I think she's someone to be concerned to be in the bottom.

Jordis Unga - MOST IMPROVED! I'm pleasantly surprised by Jordis. After a HORRIBLE battle round, I was definitely a bit shocked either got passed that. However her rendition of "Alone" by Heart was really good and is definitely a strong singer on Team Blake.

Sera Hill - "Male Strippers on The Voice" as said by Blake Shelton, a bit uncomfortable to watch that happen, but that was a choice by Christina and Sera. Overall her rendition of "Find Your Love" by Drake was good. I think if it came down some of her artists and she had to choose from either Sera and that other  artist, she'll choose Sera. As Christina said "you're like a Diva in training," and we all know Christina is a Diva in her own right, so you know Divas would stick together. Plus Sera is the only artist to have their coach want to sing with them after their blind audition. Favoritism I think so.

Erin Willet - She really reminds me slightly of Adele, which may be a good/bad think. I think she has a good voice. But is she "The Voice"? I don't know, but we'll see what America thinks.

Ashley De La Rosa - She can go. Enough said. It sounded more like a karaoke than her own rendition. Just not a fan but we'll see what America thinks.

Charlotte Sometimes - Yawn. See ya in the bottom. Way to plug "Denny's" for a job application...hahahaha

Jesse Campbell - Ok, good job The Voice Producers for putting Jesse last. It's a feel good song and the fact Jesse can sing really well doesn't hurt. However, I get this weird vibe of Javier Colon and this is just another "type cast." Which this "type cast" doesn't hurt. He'll be sticking around for a while.

Again these are just my opinions.

The coaches definitely make the show just as much of the artist if not more because they're famous and current.

Rejection

It's never a something one hopes for but it happens.

I recently found out one of my colleges I was looking at for Graduate School finally gave me an answer and that was they didn't accept me into their program. Well first off I think it's just an honor to even audition and second it's life. You can't win them all.

However if you ask any of my friends, I can't seem to not want to win. I'm very competitive and I like to win. But I do know how to lose too. Granted it's never a great feeling but it keeps me humble and to always remember that it's a great learning opportunity. Never see it as a failure but as an opportunity to prove to myself I am great and that I have back up plans. It's not the end of the road.

Now I'm awaiting on another college, hopefully we'll find out soon. AND HOPEFULLY it's better news!

So where I work I had a review. It wasn't great and it wasn't bad. It was just a review. I really value that my job takes in improving their employees. However this review felt as though I was defeated, but definitely not rejected. I find myself motivating myself to do the best I can and that's all I can do. Granted factors might prevent this, but I just gotta roll with the punches.

The song is "Glad You Came," sung by The Wanted. A British Guy(boy) Band. If you're familiar with One Direction, think of this group as the adult counter part, even though they both hit similar audience. However The Wanted's audience is more college then teens. 

Anyways, this song definitely has a catchy beat and a song you could hear at the club and dance to.

It seems FOREVER, since I blogged and it was a bucket list of things to do for 2012.

Which btw, I've completed one and continuing doing another. Where to start....hmmmm...

Well let's see....
I took a ROAD TRIP (checked off the bucket list) to Kansas City, MO. I went to Kansas City to audition for the University of Missouri Kansas City Graduate Acting Program. The trip took a good 12 hours. However it was NOTHING compared to driving from suburbs of Detroit to Greeley, CO. So I was ok with the 12 hour drive. Though it seems as though I've lost my drive of staying up the entire time and have really enjoyed sleep...A LOT! I was fortunate enough to have a buddy come along and was even more fortunate to have one of my best friends' extended family welcome me into there home for the four day stay in the area.

I have nothing but awesome things to say about the UMKC. It's in a big city and had a lot of fun spots to go to. Weirdly enough, I felt as though Kansas City was just like Cincinnati and vise versa. They had similar vibes. Which was a good thing because I definitely wanted to be in a BIGGER city for my Graduate School than my undergrad. I did enjoy my three years in Greeley and UNCO! It was great to meet some of the students and faculty. I definitely felt that I could fit into the program and the school. It just seemed to click. I felt great with my audition and I left the audition doing the best I could with NO REGRETS! Which, I know I've felt with some auditions having regrets but not this one! Hoping for some good news in the near future about my fate with UMKC.

I also had an audition at Wayne State University, which was MUCH CLOSER. I also did great with that audition and even though I didn't get a callback I still felt great about the whole thing. The whole waiting part about hearing from the schools is the killer.

I owe a lot to my letters of recommendations people. I feel so loved and honored that my professors, colleagues and mentors have confidence in me. I am a bit behind writing my "Thank You's" but they will be done, so they know I do appreciate what they've done for me.

Win or Lose, I've enjoyed this journey of Graduate School possibilities. I can only hope for the best and lots of time waiting.

I've booked a flight back to Colorado for April and I'm super excited to be going back! I can't wait to see some old friends again and visit my undergrad! Plus since my fraternity officially charted this past November, they'll be initiating the Alpha Class! I couldn't miss that, plus the last founding father/alumni is being initiated AND one of my dear friends who've I've known before realizing we'd end up at the same undergrad is in that class.

2012

A list of things I'd like to get accomplished for 2012

1. Get into Grad School with it being paid for through a TA/GA or full ride scholarship
2. Go to the gym and work out
3. Road Trip somewhere
4. Go skydiving

It has been a pleasure being his owner, but now am sad to say he has gone to swim with the fishes elsewhere. I've had Squirtle the beta for two years. He has been such a great pet and I'm sad to see him go. But know that he's in a better place and that I can say he's been a great pet!

10 days until Christmas

So I've definitely neglected on blogging the past few months. However it doesn't mean I didn't want to blog, it's just been very busy and I've procrastinated on blogging as well as many other things.

Let's see if I can sum up two months and get everyone caught up with today.

October:
So I had submitted my headshot and resume to be an extra in a film back in Sept, got cast as an extra for a DISNEY MOVIE with A-LIST ACTORS and an awesome Michigan raised director! How cool! Shot most weekdays in October and then carried on into Nov. Between the filming and working at my retail job, I was lack of sleep but getting paid.

November:
Not such a great month! Other than filming a few days and then heading to Colorado for my fraternity, I got sick! BIG TIME! Even having to stay in the hospital for nearly a week and getting out on Thanksgiving. Then attempting to go back to work had been fun and being on medication was the icing to it. Slowly but surely I got my energy back...very slowly.

Beginning of December:
Flew back to Colorado for the State Thespian Conference. Had the honor of being an adjudicator (judge) for middle & high school theatre students. Was able to see old friend and catch up as well as see some upcoming talent. Hopefully gave students constructive criticism to work on and commented on success they had. The experience was very humbling and learned a lot.

Now:
Just had an audition today, felt totally great about my audition, unfortunately didn't get cast. However helped me get back into the audition mode. Holiday shopping has been sporadic. Wanting to also send holiday cards and grad school application need to be accomplished.

Again notice the pattern of procrastination. However in time, things will get done.

Neglecting to blog

I have had plenty of opportunities to blog, but have I? Nope. This isn't good, but I also had a lot of things to vent out, though I wasn't sure if it was best to vent them completely through blogging.

But I'm back and really need to blog about something really important.

THE GRE!!!

I will begin taking this four hour test in less than 12 hours and will try my hardest to succeed. Though I'm already beginning to have doubts of my success and already feeling like I need to schedule my 2nd attempt to take this test. I'm thinking sometime in November, so that gives me October to continue studying and try to do better. However I am also trying to cram as much as I can too. But by cramming I'm trying to speed through the study guide book for all the hints, tips and tricks. I'm really feeling like I'm psyching myself out.

I'm going to stay positive though and get some sleep soon!

I'll probably blog more about this month maybe tomorrow?

Late night and oversleeping

Never a great combo to do!

I was late for work today and felt horrible! It's very out of character of me to be late. I really strive to do my best as well as arrive in a timely manner. All in all I've been working two jobs and it's starting to weigh on me heavily. I enjoy both jobs however I really need to have some time for like a day off. But with the two jobs comes an income which is very helpful. So I really can't complain, since I have two jobs and there are people without jobs trying to get an income for their family or themselves.

Randomly at one of my jobs a co-worker (whom now would consider a friend) said to me I'm way to optimistic and cheerful. Which I was very flattered that they said that but I know I definitely can be a downer and pessimistic. However I've learned that if you're not enjoying what you're doing, then why even do it? Plus if you smile enough you'll actually smile...right? hahahaha

So September is here. As mentioned I've got my list of goals I want to do and I'm going to do them. I've already worked out once this month, but really want to try and work out daily. Yet that will depend on my schedule of working as well as having a car to drive. Which really brings me to having to do some research on whether or not I want to wait or get a car. Anyways, after the first workout definitely felt it the next day, but if felt good to be getting into a routine of working out. Let's hope I gain some muscle mass and some weight...hahaha My weigh in starting for this month is 134. We'll see how this goes for the month!

Later this month is my GRE and I'm continuing studying for it. I hopefully will know which schools I've narrowed down to send my scores to. It's becoming a reality that I'm doing it and I'm getting excited about it.

Right before my GRE I shall be taking a road trip with my friend Courtney to go down to one of her friend's wedding in Tennessee. Which will be fun because it's a ROAD TRIP and I'll be getting to see along the way my friends Michael and Kat. Who were at ITF 2011 this year. So it's a mini reunion!

Downtown Farmington is actually a cool place to take some photos at night, though only was inspired by one spot at the moment.

The Civic Theatre had a very interesting look that I wanted to get a photo of. I only had my cell phone, but it did a decent job. Though now thinking about it, I actually had my small digital camera in my backpack which I had.

Goal Setting for September....and beyond!

As summer is winding down, school is starting back up and I'm just working....

But really I'm also needing to get cracking hardcore on studying for my GRE which is next month!

Here's a little list of things I'd like to accomplish for next month:

• Study for my GRE
• Figure out which schools to submit my scores to before knowing the actual results
• Join a Gym and work out
• See a play or musical or both and AUDITION!

These are the things that are a priority! Here are some other goals I'd like to do:

• Read some books (other than plays)
• Specifically classical but open to recommendations
• To get some inspiration for monologues for auditions to Grad Schools
• Ask professors, advisors, colleagues for letters of recommendations for Grad Schools
• Take photos

Some goals for the not so distant future:

• Prepare for my fraternity's chartering
• Get more volunteer experience or internship opportunities
• Teach a workshop, be a guest artist, or do something creative or in a leadership role

Always good to have these written down and then once accomplished to strike them and have the validity knowing I've done it!

TV Shows Rant

So I'm kind of a reality tv show junkie and really enjoy watching some scripted shows....The downside though, I don't even have cable, so I make up watching these shows online.

Reality TV Shows....

Big Brother 13, so I'm going to be honest, I've ranted about this before (earlier blog entry) and I'm still appalled that they didn't do a fresh faced cast this season. They did two thirds new and a third of alumni. I understand that some previous "houseguests" have made great tv, but come on....NEW FACES are better than the one's we've seen before for a reality tv show. It gets boring because we know their game play and it's not fair to some people who auditioned (like myself) and didn't get selected...hahaha granted didn't get past the casting call, but hey I can dream right!?!

Glee Project, I throughly enjoyed how Ryan Murphy pulled an Oprah moment, "You get a role and you  get a role, EVERYBODY (the final four) gets a role on GLEEEEEEEE!" hahahaha But I did enjoy the outcome. Wasn't too much of a fan of Lindsay. Alex was just as Ryan Murphy said, "love child of Kurt and Mercedes." Then the actual winners Damian (the Irish dude) and Samuel (the Christian Rocker) won. Which I'm happy for both winners and the two runner ups since they all got episode arcs for Glee. Who knows maybe all four will be permanent cast members.

The Challenge Rivals, if only they brought back Road Rules, I'd totally do the show. The Challege: Rivals was meh. Enjoyed the highs and lows. I'm over cliques, but it makes for great tv. Not surprised by the winners, would have liked to have seen a rookie duo win, but sadly that didn't happen.

Project Runway, I watch it because of Heidi Klum...enough said

Oddly enough all my scripted shows have been on USA Network.
Really enjoy Royal Pains, White Collar, Covert Affairs and the new series Suits. USA has done a good job with their programming. I really want to get caught up on Burn Notice but just haven't had the time...hahahaha

Shows I've rewatched this summer Avatar: The Last Airbender, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, Yu-Gi-Oh! (all three generations)

This time ten years ago...

It was a Wednesday night and I was counting down the days of when I'd be going back to school as an Eighth Grader...what I didn't know was as I was going to go to sleep my life would change FOREVER...

By early evening tomorrow will officially mark my brother's TENTH BIRTHDAY....oh how time has flown by!

He's growing up as I am still trying to grow up as well...hahaha
His growing up at least is a lot easier than mine, but at the time I was his age (that makes me sound old) it seemed like the hardest time.

I can definitely see the change of how the world is and where it's been as well as where it seems to be going. However I'm staying positive through the changes and letting them happen naturally as opposed to forced.

My brother is really different from me...I'm very extroverted he's more introverted. But in due time that may change but if not that's ok. I know I just want the best for him, just like my parents want for him and just like they want what's best for me.

Looking back ten years doesn't seem that long ago but a lot has happened. He's starting Upper Elementary school, while ten years ago I was finishing my last school year at middle school.

Oh how times have changed and I can't wait to celebrate my brother's birthday with him as he turns a decade!

Feeling busy again

I have had a very busy week this past week. Consisting of training and work. But I can't say I didn't hate it nor love it. It felt good having a consistent schedule. Rather than a fickle one.

Though I haven't looked at my GRE studying in a while, but I know I'll get back into that sooner rather than the two weeks before...lol

Really have enjoyed getting trained for my new job, so much stuff to learn and to remember. I'm glad I know how to adapt and change. Though it seems that I don't I feel that I have changed or at least made some improvements into the right direction.

I have considered quitting my other job to focus on this new job that I've had many days training, but I personally feel weird getting the job early summer then now just leaving...I'll revisit this issue probably in October. Really weigh my options....

Which looking at Grad Schools is kinda stressing me out a bit, but I'm going to try and stay positive. I'm looking at Out of State that have apprenticeships or grad assistants which pays for me to learn while I work too. I am all for, but really trying to find schools that will be best for me and my future have been stressful. However going to stay positive and have fun searching my different options.

It's August already

So by this time of the year, summer would be winding down and I'd be preparing for another year of school and RA Training...but NOT THIS YEAR!!!!

Just finished my third day of training and it was really enjoyable. A bit bittersweet, but I know that I've got more training coming up. Still learning for this job.

A few days ago I applied for another job....I GOT IT! I think of it as more of an internship but more importantly an AMAZING OPPORTUNITY!

That now puts my job count to THREE! I enjoy having a very busy schedule. But this is a new kind of busy and I'm trying to figure out how to stay positive, energetic and excited. Though I may feel a bit tired, I'm still having fun!

Also just saw another job posting for a job...may apply...may not....but most likely I'll give it a shot and see...I've got nothing to lose...besides I know when enough is enough as well as learning to give and take. So I'm really just trying to get a job(s) that will work well and I will enjoy.

I was a bit of a jerk to a friend tonight, I felt awful at the end and my friend knows I didn't really mean to hurt any feelings or cause any unnecessary drama. However a positive was they were so kind enough to give me food! They didn't want it anymore and I gladly volunteered. hahahaaha

I saw another friend today too and was glad to catch up with them. They recently lost a loved one and haven't been able to see due to giving space for time to heal as well as being busy. But good to catch up and be a ear to listen.

August will be dedicated to studying for my GRE which is now at the end of NEXT MONTH!!! AHH September seems really close...though...27 days left of August....then an additional 28 days in September...so really about less than 60 (55 days to be exact)...until my test, but going to stay positive and upbeat
